The Magic Loot collection index is the left-side Index UI that tracks new material types you discover in the dungeon. Completing milestones lets you claim chests that add backpack storage — the difference between a two-item bag and a real loot run. This page is the backpack-growth route for the Roblox beta from Magic Magic +1 +1 +1. Verified August 16, 2026 · Play on Roblox.
| Fact | Detail |
|---|---|
| UI location | Index on the left side of the HUD / hub |
| Tracks | New material types only |
| Duplicates | Do not advance Index progress |
| Start slots | ~2 items (very limited early) |
| Milestone reward | Claim chest → +1 backpack slot |
| Example materials | Goblin Finger · Copper Earring · Furnace Core |
| Deeper stages | More material types (e.g. Stage 3 / 5+) |

Open the Index on the left. Tutorial clips show the materials list there: every time you check out a new item for your collection, progress moves, and when a milestone is ready you click Claim to add inventory / backpack space. That is the entire UI contract — no separate backpack vendor required.

It is a discovery log for material types, not a stack counter. Picking up your first Goblin Finger matters. Picking up your twentieth Goblin Finger does not move the milestone bar. Beginner tip videos say it plainly: look for materials you do not have yet, reach the Index target, return, get the discovered material registered, then Claim.
Players who never open Index still feel the two-slot pain and assume the game is “broken inventory.” The fix is already on the left side of the screen. Make opening Index part of every hub return, the same way you sell filler and check the Wand shop.
Starting backpack space is tiny — community guides and the beginner progression video agree you can initially carry only about two items. Each completed Index milestone expands storage when you Claim, so you stay in the dungeon longer and bring back more loot before returning.
The gap between two slots and a larger backpack is huge. With two slots, every boss rare forces a triage decision. With more slots, one hallway push can fund a Wand upgrade and still leave room for Index-new mats. Chasing weapons while ignoring Index is the classic slow route called out in beginner guides.
Footage shows players manually clicking Claim after the discovery registers. Do not assume the slot appears the moment the material touches your bag — open Index and Claim. If the button is grey, you still need more new types, not more duplicates of the same mushroom.
Any new material type advances the Index. Confirmed community examples include Goblin Finger, Copper Earring, and Furnace Core. Alchemy tutorials also handle blueberry, wither mushroom, and golden teeth — those count as types too when first found. Live Index list is truth if names differ slightly in Beta.
| Material example | Why it matters | After it registers |
|---|---|---|
| Goblin Finger | Common Index / Alchemy example drop | Extras → Alchemy stock or Coins |
| Copper Earring | Index discovery example | Sell or hold per Coin need |
| Furnace Core | Index discovery example | Same — type already counted |
| Blueberry / Wither mushroom | Alchemy demo mats; still Index types | Keep for brew if recipe unlocked |
| Golden teeth | Alchemy example ingredient | Register first, then brew/sell |
| Unnamed deeper-stage mat | Stage 3 / 5+ type variety | Highest Index value while still new |
Once a type is registered, more copies are inventory weight. Keep a small Alchemy reserve if Potions needs them; sell the rest so Coins buy Wands that survive Rebirth.
Boss windows and later hallway sections are where new types and rares cluster. If you are Index-stuck, push as deep as your Power allows with empty slots reserved for unfamiliar mats — Bosses.
Claim as soon as the milestone is ready. Sitting on an unclaimed chest while you die with a two-slot bag is free pain.
| Hub moment | Claim now? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Milestone complete / Claim lit | Yes | +1 slot before the next push |
| One new type away from milestone | Farm that type first | Short targeted run beats random filler farming |
| About to buy a big Wand | Claim first if ready | Larger bag makes the post-purchase farm pay faster |
| About to Rebirth | Claim first if ready | Slots stay; start the rebuild with more carry space |
| Mid-dungeon with full bag | Return and Claim if ready | Do not force deeper packs with zero free slots |
Community beginner routes mention Index-style targets (examples like completing a fraction of a milestone for +1 slot). Treat the on-screen counter as authoritative — Beta can retune numbers. Your habit stays: new types → Claim → bigger bag.

Use this as a mid-session decision table when you are choosing what to pick up under two-slot pressure.

| Floor drop | Bag state | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Never-seen material | 1 free slot | Take it — Index first |
| Never-seen material | 0 free slots | Sell/drop filler in hub, then return for that type if possible |
| Duplicate common | Any | Ignore or take only if bag empty and no new types nearby |
| Boss rare + new Index type | 1 slot | Prefer the new Index type if the rare is not unique to you yet; otherwise rare — then farm Index next run |
| Alchemy mat you need + new type | 1 slot | New type wins; brew after the Claim unlock |
One tip video’s whole script is the habit: check Index for materials you do not have, get new dungeon mats, hit the target, return, discover, Claim, get more inventory. If your session does not include at least one intentional “new type” objective, backpack growth stalls while Wand shopping continues.
Most backpack complaints are habit errors. Scan this table before you blame Beta tuning.
| Mistake | Fix |
|---|---|
| Never opening left-side Index | Open Index every sell trip; Claim when ready |
| Selling first-find materials for Coins | Register the type first, then sell duplicates |
| Filling both starter slots with junk | Triage: new types and rares only |
| Farming duplicates to “finish Index” | Hunt unfamiliar mats / deeper stages |
| Ignoring Index while buying Wands only | Alternate: Wand rung → Index Claim → deeper farm |
| Skipping Claim before Rebirth | Claim slots first; rebuild with more carry space |
| Expecting auto backpack upgrades | Milestones need manual Claim |
